Now when the Pharisees ¹  heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, ²  they assembled together. ³ 

who must be silenced because they mislead whole families by teaching for dishonest gain what ought not to be taught.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under ¹  the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
