“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

You must not kindle a fire ¹  in any of your homes ²  on the Sabbath day.” ³ 

Be careful to observe ¹  the Sabbath day just as the Lord your God has commanded you.

Six days ¹  work may be done, ²  but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, ³  holy to the Lord; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.

It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath.” ¹ 

but in the seventh year the land must have a Sabbath of complete rest ¹  – a Sabbath to the Lord. You must not sow your field or ²  prune your vineyard.

Do not carry any loads out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath day. ¹  But observe the Sabbath day as a day set apart to the Lord, ²  as I commanded your ancestors. ³ 

Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”

When the Israelites were ¹  in the wilderness they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. ² 

This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, ¹  besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

Some of the Kohathites, their relatives, were in charge of preparing the bread that is displayed each Sabbath.

You made known to them your holy Sabbath; you issued commandments, statutes, and law to them through ¹  Moses your servant.

When the evening shadows ¹  began to fall on the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I ordered ²  the doors to be closed. I further directed that they were not to be opened until after the Sabbath. I positioned ³  some of my young men at the gates so that no load could enter on the Sabbath day.

Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area. ¹ 

It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves. ¹  It is a perpetual statute. ² 

and he must wave the sheaf before the Lord to be accepted for your benefit ¹  – on the day after the Sabbath the priest is to wave it. ² 

“‘You must count for yourselves seven weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the wave offering sheaf; they must be complete weeks. ¹ 

You must count fifty days – until the day after the seventh Sabbath – and then ¹  you must present a new grain offering to the Lord.

Each Sabbath day ¹  Aaron ²  must arrange it before the Lord continually; this portion ³  is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.
