Calamity ¹  pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. ² 

¹ The way of the righteous is level, the path of the righteous that you make is straight. ² 

Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness ¹  is righteous, just as Jesus ²  is righteous.

Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever ¹  receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

He does not take his eyes ¹  off the righteous; but with kings on the throne he seats the righteous ²  and exalts them forever. ³ 

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. ¹ 

(for while he lived among them day after day, that righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul ¹  by the lawless deeds he saw and heard ² )

“Is ¹  a mortal man ²  righteous ³  before ⁴  God? Or a man pure ⁵  before his Creator? ⁶ 

But the righteous man holds to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger. ¹ 

The righteous see their destruction ¹  and rejoice; the innocent mock them scornfully, ²  saying,

to guard ¹  the paths of the righteous ²  and to protect ³  the way of his pious ones. ⁴ 

All the words of my mouth are righteous; ¹  there is nothing in them twisted ²  or crooked.

by me princes rule, as well as nobles and ¹  all righteous judges. ² 

The Lord satisfies ¹  the appetite ²  of the righteous, but he thwarts ³  the craving ⁴  of the wicked.

Blessings ¹  are on the head of the righteous, but the speech ²  of the wicked conceals ³  violence. ⁴ 

The memory ¹  of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation ²  of the wicked will rot. ³ 

The reward ¹  which the righteous receive ²  is life; the recompense ³  which the wicked receive ⁴  is judgment. ⁵ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous feeds ²  many, but fools die ³  for lack of wisdom. ⁴ 

What the wicked fears ¹  will come on him; what the righteous desire ²  will be granted. ³ 

The hope ¹  of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled. ²
