Then Joab sent a full battle report to David. ¹ 

He instructed the messenger as follows: “When you finish giving the battle report to the king,

While ¹  you are still there speaking to the king, I will arrive ²  and verify your report.” ³ 

The report they sent to him was written as follows: ¹  “To King Darius: All greetings! ² 

On that day a fugitive will come to you to report the news. ¹ 

¹ “You must not give ²  a false report. ³  Do not make common cause ⁴  with the wicked ⁵  to be a malicious ⁶  witness.

those men who produced the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the Lord.

The king of Jericho received this report: “Note well! ¹  Israelite men have come here tonight ²  to spy on the land.”

For this is what the sovereign master ¹  has told me: “Go, post a guard! He must report what he sees.

They will report that the fords have been captured, the reed marshes have been burned, the soldiers are terrified. ¹

Then they took ¹  some of the produce of the land and carried it back down to us. They also brought a report to us, saying, “The land that the Lord our God is about to give us is good.”

I was forty years old when Moses, the Lord’s servant, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy on the land and I brought back to him an honest report. ¹ 

The Israelites received this report: ¹  “Look, the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar at the entrance to ²  the land of Canaan, at Geliloth near the Jordan on the Israelite side.”
