And after ¹  you have read this letter, have it read ²  to the church of Laodicea. In turn, read the letter from Laodicea ³  as well.

Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ¹ 

The inscription ¹  of the charge against him read, “The king of the Jews.”

When they read it aloud, ¹  the people ²  rejoiced at its encouragement. ³ 

You yourselves are our letter, ¹  written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

But until this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds, ¹ 

He ¹  said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

He answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, ¹ 

Now as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, ¹ 

Above ¹  his head they put the charge against him, ²  which read: ³  “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

Then ¹  he began to tell them, “Today ²  this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” ³ 

Jesus ¹  answered them, ²  “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

I call on you solemnly in the Lord ¹  to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. ² 

Or have you not read in the law that the priests in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are not guilty?

He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry –

Pilate also had a notice ¹  written and fastened to the cross, ²  which read: ³  “Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews.”

For Moses has had those who proclaim him in every town from ancient times, ¹  because he is read aloud ²  in the synagogues ³  every Sabbath.”

When the governor ¹  had read ²  the letter, ³  he asked ⁴  what province he was from. ⁵  When he learned ⁶  that he was from Cilicia, ⁷ 

For we do not write you anything other than what ¹  you can read and also understand. But I hope that you will understand completely ² 

and said to him, “Do you hear what they are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouths of children and nursing infants you have prepared praise for yourself’?” ¹
