But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

For God ¹  was pleased to have all his ²  fullness dwell ³  in the Son ⁴ 

“Glory ¹  to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people ²  with whom he is pleased!” ³ 

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

For Macedonia and Achaia are pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.

But when the one ¹  who set me apart from birth ²  and called me by his grace was pleased

And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, ¹  for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

When he saw that this pleased the Jews, ¹  he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.) ² 

When his daughter Herodias ¹  came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you.”

The ¹  proposal pleased the entire group, so ²  they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, with ³  Philip, ⁴  Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a Gentile convert to Judaism ⁵  from Antioch. ⁶ 

For they were pleased to do this, and indeed they are indebted to the Jerusalem saints. ¹  For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are obligated also to minister to them in material things.

For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death, and he was not to be found because God took him up. For before his removal he had been commended as having pleased God.
