Then they sat down and kept guard over him there.

Then ¹  he bent over again and wrote on the ground.

And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, ¹  he will rejoice more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.

But Jesus called them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.

So ¹  Jesus ²  said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ ³ 

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. ¹ 

They ¹  tied him up, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate ²  the governor. ³ 

(For he knew that they had handed him over because of envy.) ¹ 

Now from noon until three, ¹  darkness came over all the land. ² 

and they picked up the broken pieces and fish that were left over, twelve baskets full.

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret ¹  and anchored there.

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.) ¹ 

Now ¹  when it was noon, ²  darkness came over the whole land ³  until three in the afternoon. ⁴ 

When his time of service was over, ¹  he went to his home.

He ¹  will reign over the house of Jacob ²  forever, and his kingdom will never end.”

So ¹  they sailed over to the region of the Gerasenes, ²  which is opposite ³  Galilee.

Woe to you! ¹  You are like unmarked graves, and people ²  walk over them without realizing it!” ³ 

So ¹  the king ²  said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

Now ¹  when Jesus ²  approached ³  and saw the city, he wept over it,

There was also an inscription ¹  over him, “This is the king of the Jews.”
