The farmer who works hard ought to have the first share of the crops.

The one who says he resides ¹  in God ²  ought himself to walk ³  just as Jesus ⁴  walked.

Dear friends, if God so loved us, then ¹  we also ought to love one another. ² 

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. ¹ 

who must be silenced because they mislead whole families by teaching for dishonest gain what ought not to be taught.

You ought to say instead, ¹  “If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that.”

Therefore we ¹  ought to support such people, so that we become coworkers in cooperation with the truth. ² 

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you too ought to wash one another’s feet.

The Jewish leaders ¹  replied, ²  “We have a law, ³  and according to our law he ought to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God!” ⁴ 

In the same way ¹  husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may be able to speak boldly as I ought to speak.

We have come to know love by this: ¹  that Jesus ²  laid down ³  his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians.

Or is he not surely speaking for our benefit? It was written for us, because the one plowing and threshing ought to work in hope of enjoying the harvest.

And I wrote this very thing to you, ¹  so that when I came ²  I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.

We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, ¹  and rightly so, ²  because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters ¹  loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning ²  for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

in case I am delayed, to let you know how people ought to conduct themselves ¹  in the household of God, because it is ²  the church of the living God, the support and bulwark of the truth.

Then Festus ¹  said, “King Agrippa, ²  and all you who are present here with us, you see this man about whom the entire Jewish populace ³  petitioned ⁴  me both in Jerusalem ⁵  and here, ⁶  shouting loudly ⁷  that he ought not to live any longer.

For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you ¹  a measure of faith. ²
