Better is open ¹  rebuke than hidden ²  love.

Then blind eyes will open, deaf ears will hear.

When he had finished ¹  speaking ²  all these words, the ground that was under them split open,

And every open container that has no covering fastened on it is unclean.

But if only God would speak, ¹  if only he would open his lips against you, ² 

Who can open the doors of its mouth? ¹  Its teeth all around are fearsome.

They ¹  open their mouths to devour me ²  like a roaring lion that rips its prey. ³

Wisdom is unattainable ¹  for a fool; in court ²  he does not open his mouth. ³ 

Open your mouth, judge in righteousness, ¹  and plead the cause ²  of the poor and needy.

Open the gates so a righteous nation can enter – one that remains trustworthy.

to open blind eyes, ¹  to release prisoners ²  from dungeons, those who live in darkness from prisons.

You will fall dead in the open field; for I have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord.

Open your gates, Lebanon, so that the fire may consume your cedars. ¹
