You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet ¹  with perfumed oil.

When ¹  you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,

When ¹  the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra ²  olive oil ³  with them.

But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.

When ¹  she poured this oil on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

The ¹  foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’

“Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins ¹  and the money ²  given to the poor?”

‘No,’ they replied. ¹  ‘There won’t be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

a woman came to him with an alabaster jar ¹  of expensive perfumed oil, ²  and she poured it on his head as he was at the table. ³ 

The man ¹  replied, ‘A hundred measures ²  of olive oil.’ The manager ³  said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.’ ⁴ 

(Now it was Mary who anointed the Lord with perfumed oil ¹  and wiped his feet dry with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) ² 

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. So God, your God, has anointed you over your companions ¹  with the oil of rejoicing.” ² 

cinnamon, spice, ¹  incense, perfumed ointment, ²  frankincense, ³  wine, olive oil and costly flour, ⁴  wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and four-wheeled carriages, ⁵  slaves and human lives. ⁶ 

Then Mary took three quarters of a pound ¹  of expensive aromatic oil from pure nard ²  and anointed the feet of Jesus. She ³  then wiped his feet dry with her hair. (Now the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfumed oil.) ⁴ 

Then ¹  when a woman of that town, who was a sinner, learned that Jesus ²  was dining ³  at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar ⁴  of perfumed oil. ⁵ 

As ¹  she stood ²  behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. She ³  wiped them with her hair, ⁴  kissed ⁵  them, ⁶  and anointed ⁷  them with the perfumed oil.

He ¹  went up to him ²  and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil ³  and wine on them. Then ⁴  he put him on ⁵  his own animal, ⁶  brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Is anyone among you ill? He should summon the elders of the church, and they should pray for him and anoint ¹  him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Now ¹  while Jesus ²  was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, reclining at the table, ³  a woman came with an alabaster jar ⁴  of costly aromatic oil ⁵  from pure nard. After breaking open the jar, she poured it on his head.
