He ¹  leads ²  counselors away stripped ³  and makes judges ⁴  into fools. ⁵ 

Whoever makes anything like it, to use as perfume, ¹  will be cut off from his people.”

The Lord impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.

The one true God completely vindicates me; ¹  he makes nations submit to me. ² 

he makes the Bear, ¹  Orion, ²  and the Pleiades, ³  and the constellations of the southern sky; ⁴ 

He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

They grope about in darkness ¹  without light; he makes them stagger ²  like drunkards.

But it is a spirit in people, the breath ¹  of the Almighty, that makes them understand.

For he says, ‘It does not profit a man when he makes his delight with God.’ ¹ 

Do you know how God commands them, ¹  how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud? ² 

It makes its tail stiff ¹  like a cedar, the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

He judges the world fairly; he makes just legal decisions for the nations. ¹

He makes Lebanon skip like a calf and Sirion ¹  like a young ox. ² 

When worries threaten to overwhelm me, ¹  your soothing touch makes me happy. ² 

Because of the anxiety that makes me groan, my bones protrude from my skin. ¹ 

He makes the winds his messengers, and the flaming fire his attendant. ¹ 

He makes the barren woman of the family ¹  a happy mother of children. ²  Praise the Lord!

For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children ¹  within you.

The blessing ¹  from the Lord ²  makes a person rich, ³  and he adds no sorrow ⁴  to ⁵  it.
