So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.

but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,

for it is written, “You shall be holy, because I am holy.” ¹ 

If the first portion ¹  of the dough offered is holy, then the whole batch is holy, and if the root is holy, so too are the branches. ² 

Greet all the brothers and sisters ¹  with a holy kiss.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ¹ 

and said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” ¹  They replied, ²  “No, we have not even ³  heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, ¹  and so ²  he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, ³ 

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle ¹  was standing.

I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

because he who is mighty ¹  has done great things for me, and holy is his name;

Then ¹  his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, ² 

as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago, ¹ 

He has done this ¹  to show mercy ²  to our ancestors, ³  and to remember his holy covenant ⁴  –

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment ¹  what you must say.” ² 

We ¹  have come to believe and to know ²  that you are the Holy One of God!” ³ 

And after he said this, he breathed on them and said, ¹  “Receive the Holy Spirit. ² 

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, ¹  replied, ²  “Rulers of the people and elders, ³ 

These two ¹  went down and prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit.

Then Peter and John placed their hands on the Samaritans, ¹  and they received the Holy Spirit. ²
