Then when desire conceives, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is full grown, it gives birth to death.

Consequently the one who rejects this is not rejecting human authority ¹  but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him.

The one who observes the day does it for the Lord. The ¹  one who eats, eats for the Lord because he gives thanks to God, and the one who abstains from eating abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.
