When ¹  it was evening, he took his place at the table ²  with the twelve. ³ 

When evening came, Jesus and his disciples ¹  went out of the city.

Then, ¹  when it was evening, he came to the house ²  with the twelve.

Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

He ¹  said, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, because the sky is red,’

When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.

When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea and he was alone on the land.

Now ¹  when evening had already come, since it was the day of preparation (that is, the day before the Sabbath), ² 

So ¹  they seized ²  them and put them in jail ³  until the next day (for it was already evening).

When it was evening, many demon-possessed people were brought to him. He drove out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. ¹ 

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

When ¹  it was evening ²  the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the workers and give the pay ³  starting with the last hired until the first.’

Now ¹  when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. ²

Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the house will return – whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or at dawn –

but they urged him, ¹  “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So ²  he went in to stay with them.

The evening meal ¹  was in progress, and the devil had already put into the heart ²  of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, that he should betray ³  Jesus. ⁴ 

When evening arrived, his disciples came to him saying, “This is an isolated place ¹  and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away so that they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the disciples had gathered together ¹  and locked the doors ²  of the place ³  because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. ⁴  Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

They set ¹  a day to meet with him, ²  and they came to him where he was staying ³  in even greater numbers. ⁴  From morning until evening he explained things ⁵  to them, ⁶  testifying ⁷  about the kingdom of God ⁸  and trying to convince ⁹  them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.
