and offered Jesus ¹  wine mixed with gall to drink. ²  But after tasting it, he would not drink it.

and he begins to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with drunkards,

For my flesh is true ¹  food, and my blood is true ²  drink.

Jesus ¹  answered, “You don’t know what you are asking! ²  Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” ³  They said to him, “We are able.” ⁴ 

I ¹  tell you, from now on I will not drink of this fruit ²  of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I experience?” ¹ 

They said to him, “We are able.” ¹  Then Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I experience,

I tell you the truth, ¹  I will no longer drink of the fruit ²  of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

for he will be great in the sight of ¹  the Lord. He ²  must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. ³ 

Won’t ¹  the master ²  instead say to him, ‘Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready ³  to serve me while ⁴  I eat and drink. Then ⁵  you may eat and drink’?

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you,

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

A Samaritan woman ¹  came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me some water ²  to drink.”

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble. ¹ 

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

Then the righteous will answer him, ¹  ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink.
