Is it at your command ¹  that the eagle soars, and builds its nest on high?

The one who loves a quarrel loves transgression; ¹  whoever builds his gate high seeks destruction. ² 

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

The house he builds is as fragile as a moth’s cocoon, ¹  like a hut ²  that a watchman has made.

The one who builds a city by bloodshed is as good as dead ¹  – he who starts ²  a town by unjust deeds.

Even the birds find a home there, and the swallow ¹  builds a nest, where she can protect her young ²  near your altars, O Lord who rules over all, my king and my God.

“‘Sure to be judged ¹  is the king who builds his palace using injustice and treats people unfairly while adding its upper rooms. ²  He makes his countrymen work for him for nothing. He does not pay them for their labor.

He builds the upper rooms of his palace ¹  in heaven and sets its foundation supports ²  on the earth. ³  He summons the water of the sea and pours it out on the earth’s surface. The Lord is his name.

The one who builds his house by unjust gain is as good as dead. ¹  He does this so he can build his nest way up high and escape the clutches of disaster. ²
