Woe to you! You build ¹  the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors ²  killed.

They will say, ¹  ‘This man ²  began to build and was not able to finish!’ ³ 

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.

to equip ¹  the saints for the work of ministry, that is, ²  to build up the body of Christ,

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades ¹  will not overpower it.

“Woe to you, experts in the law ¹  and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You ²  build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves ³  of the righteous.

“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.’”

So you testify that you approve of ¹  the deeds of your ancestors, ²  because they killed the prophets ³  and you build their ⁴  tombs! ⁵ 

Then ¹  he said, ‘I ²  will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build ¹  an embankment ²  against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,

But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, ¹  I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God’s law. ² 

For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t sit down ¹  first and compute the cost ²  to see if he has enough money to complete it?

‘Heaven is my throne, and earth is the footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is my resting place? ¹ 

And now I entrust ¹  you to God and to the message ²  of his grace. This message ³  is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Have you been thinking all this time ¹  that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up. ²
