“If the world hates you, be aware ¹  that it hated me first. ² 

When Jesus was aware ¹  that his disciples were complaining ²  about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended? ³ 

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

I am also aware ¹  that you have persisted steadfastly, ²  endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.
