You hide them with you, where they are safe from the attacks ¹  of men; ²  you conceal them in a shelter, where they are safe from slanderous attacks. ³ 

“If Esau attacks one camp,” ¹  he thought, ²  “then the other camp will be able to escape.” ³ 

May they be ¹  like wind-driven chaff, as the Lord’s angel ²  attacks them! ³ 

He ¹  attacks ²  his friends; ³  he breaks his solemn promises to them. ⁴ 

He repeatedly ¹  attacks me, he turns his hand ²  against me all day long. ³

You must not do anything to the young woman – she has done nothing deserving of death. This case is the same as when someone attacks another person ¹  and murders him,

Those survivors from Jacob will live among the nations, in the midst of many peoples. They will be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which attacks when it passes through; it rips its prey ¹  and there is no one to stop it. ²
