then ¹  let my arm fall from the shoulder, ²  let my arm be broken off at the socket. ³ 

or a man who has had a broken leg or arm, ¹ 

Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence ¹  is broken. ² 

You crushed the Proud One ¹  and killed it; ²  with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

Your arm is powerful, your hand strong, your right hand ¹  victorious. ² 

My hand will support him, ¹  and my arm will strengthen him.

with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his loyal love endures,

Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! May a sword fall on his arm and his right eye! May his arm wither completely away, and his right eye become completely blind!”

Then Moses replied, ¹  “If you will do this thing, and if you will arm yourselves for battle before the Lord,

Do you have an arm as powerful as God’s, ¹  and can you thunder with a voice like his?

You must turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and prophesy against it.

So Moses spoke to the people: “Arm ¹  men from among you for the war, to attack the Midianites and to execute ²  the Lord’s vengeance on Midian.

Of Gad he said: Blessed be the one who enlarges Gad. Like a lioness he will dwell; he will tear at an arm – indeed, a scalp. ¹ 

Break the arm ¹  of the wicked and evil man! Hold him accountable for his wicked deeds, ²  which he thought you would not discover. ³ 

A psalm. Sing to the Lord a new song, ²  for he performs ³  amazing deeds! His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance. ⁴ 

They devoured ¹  on the right, but were still hungry, they ate on the left, but were not satisfied. People even ate ²  the flesh of their own arm! ³ 

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; ¹  he leads the ewes along.

I am the Lord, I have no peer, ¹  there is no God but me. I arm you for battle, ²  even though you do not recognize ³  me.

Yet it was I who led ¹  Ephraim, I took them by the arm; but they did not acknowledge that I had healed them. ² 

Fear and dread ¹  will fall ²  on them; by the greatness ³  of your arm they will be as still as stone ⁴  until ⁵  your people pass by, O Lord, until the people whom you have bought ⁶  pass by.
