He made the camels kneel down by the well ¹  outside the city. It was evening, ²  the time when the women would go out to draw water.

Come! Let’s bow down and worship! ¹  Let’s kneel before the Lord, our creator!

When ¹  they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him,

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, and kneeling down she asked him for a favor. ¹ 

So he brought the men ¹  down to the water. Then the Lord said to Gideon, “Separate those who lap the water as a dog laps from those who kneel to drink.” ² 

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he got up from before the altar of the Lord where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky. ¹ 

For this reason ¹  I kneel ²  before the Father, ³ 

Now ¹  a leper ²  came to him and fell to his knees, asking for help. “If ³  you are willing, you can make me clean,” he said.

When ¹  our time was over, ²  we left and went on our way. All of them, with their wives and children, accompanied ³  us outside of the city. After ⁴  kneeling down on the beach and praying, ⁵ 

When Haman saw that Mordecai was not bowing or paying homage to him, he ¹  was filled with rage.

then let my wife turn the millstone ¹  for another man, and may other men have sexual relations with her. ² 

Again and again ¹  they struck him on the head with a staff ²  and spit on him. Then they knelt down and paid homage to him.

When ¹  he had said these things, he knelt down ²  with them all and prayed.

As a result, ¹  all the king’s servants who were at the king’s gate were bowing and paying homage to Haman, for the king had so commanded. However, Mordecai did not bow, ²  nor did he pay him homage.

and after braiding ¹  a crown of thorns, ²  they put it on his head. They ³  put a staff ⁴  in his right hand, and kneeling down before him, they mocked him: ⁵  “Hail, king of the Jews!” ⁶ 

They crouch, they bear ¹  their young, they bring forth the offspring they have carried. ² 

Three hundred men lapped; ¹  the rest of the men ²  kneeled to drink water.

Bathsheba bowed down to the king with her face to the floor ¹  and said, “May my master, King David, live forever!”

When Daniel realized ¹  that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows ²  in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. ³  Three ⁴  times daily he was ⁵  kneeling ⁶  and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously.

You give me strength for battle; ¹  you make my foes kneel before me. ²
