I will speak, ¹  so that I may find relief; I will open my lips, so that I may answer.

But ¹  no stranger had to spend the night outside, for I opened my doors to the traveler ²  –

I am silent and cannot open my mouth because of what you have done. ¹ 

I will learn a song that imparts wisdom; I will then sing my insightful song to the accompaniment of a harp. ¹ 

I will make streams flow down the slopes and produce springs in the middle of the valleys. I will turn the desert into a pool of water and the arid land into springs.

This is what the Lord says to his chosen ¹  one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I hold ²  in order to subdue nations before him, and disarm kings, ³  to open doors before him, so gates remain unclosed:

But when I speak with you, I will loosen your tongue ¹  and you must say to them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says.’ Those who listen will listen, but the indifferent will refuse, ²  for they are a rebellious house.

“Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse ¹  so that there may be food in my temple. Test me in this matter,” says the Lord who rules over all, “to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until there is no room for it all.
