“I have heard many things like these before. What miserable comforters ¹  are you all!

For he fulfills his decree against me, ¹  and many such things are his plans. ² 

The godly ¹  face many dangers, ²  but the Lord saves ³  them ⁴  from each one of them.

Many times he delivered ¹  them, but they had a rebellious attitude, ²  and degraded themselves ³  by their sin.

There are many plans ¹  in a person’s mind, ²  but it ³  is the counsel ⁴  of the Lord which will stand.

“Many ¹  daughters ²  have done valiantly, ³  but you surpass them all!”

You see ¹  many things, but don’t comprehend; ²  their ears are open, but do not hear.”

In this way Jacob ¹  became extremely prosperous. He owned ²  large flocks, male and female servants, camels, and donkeys.

If there are still many years, in keeping with them ¹  he must refund most of the cost of his purchase for his redemption,

Gideon fathered seventy sons through his many wives. ¹ 

Though you have allowed me to experience much trouble and distress, ¹  revive me once again! ²  Bring me up once again ³  from the depths of the earth!

For you know in your own heart ¹  that you also have cursed others many times.

The Lord who rules over all says, ‘It will someday come to pass that people – residents of many cities – will come.

The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that my wonders ¹  may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

King Solomon fell in love with many foreign women (besides Pharaoh’s daughter), including Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites.

In those days ¹  no one could travel safely, ²  for total chaos had overtaken all the people of the surrounding lands. ³ 

Some of the family leaders gave to the project treasury 20,000 gold drachmas and 2,200 silver minas.

You prolonged your kindness ¹  with them for many years, and you solemnly admonished them by your Spirit through your prophets. Still they paid no attention, ²  so you delivered them into the hands of the neighboring peoples. ³ 

O Lord, my God, you have accomplished many things; you have done amazing things and carried out your purposes for us. ¹  No one can thwart you! ²  I want to declare them and talk about them, but they are too numerous to recount! ³ 

From earliest times, the prophets who preceded you and me invariably ¹  prophesied war, disaster, ²  and plagues against many countries and great kingdoms.
