from Judah, Nahshon ¹  son of Amminadab;

Elihu, a brother of David, led Judah, Omri son of Michael led Issachar,

Azariah ¹  built up Elat and restored it to Judah after the king ²  had passed away. ³ 

He captured the fortified cities of Judah and marched against Jerusalem.

He ordered Judah to seek the Lord God of their ancestors ¹  and to observe his law and commands. ² 

The events of Asa’s reign, from start to finish, are recorded in the Scroll of the Kings of Judah and Israel. ¹

¹ The Philistines gathered their troops ²  for battle. They assembled at Socoh in Judah. They camped in Ephes Dammim, between Socoh and Azekah.

So King Joash of Israel attacked. He and King Amaziah of Judah faced each other on the battlefield ¹  in Beth Shemesh of Judah.

In every city throughout Judah he set up high places to offer sacrifices to other gods. He angered the Lord God of his ancestors.
