The Lord’s loyal followers receive his guidance, 1 and he reveals his covenantal demands to them. 2
All my closest friends 1 detest me; and those whom 2 I love have turned against me. 3
just as I was in my most productive time, 1 when God’s intimate friendship 2 was experienced in my tent,
Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers. 1
They carefully plot 1 against your people, and make plans to harm 2 the ones you cherish. 3
for one who goes astray 1 is an abomination 2 to the Lord, but he reveals 3 his intimate counsel 4 to the upright.
The one who goes about slandering others 1 reveals 2 secrets, but the one who is trustworthy 3 conceals a matter.
Plans fail 1 when there is no counsel, but with abundant advisers they are established. 2
The one who goes about gossiping 1 reveals secrets; therefore do not associate 2 with someone who is always opening his mouth. 3
When you argue a case 1 with your neighbor, do not reveal the secret of another person, 2
We would share personal thoughts with each other; 1 in God’s temple we would walk together among the crowd.
a God who is honored 1 in the great angelic assembly, 2 and more awesome than 3 all who surround him?
Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the godly and the congregation.
I did not spend my time in the company of other people, laughing and having a good time. I stayed to myself because I felt obligated to you 1 and because I was filled with anger at what they had done.

Certainly the sovereign Lord does nothing without first revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
