He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who observes the clouds will not reap. ¹ 

Now, if such a carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, ¹  it is clean,

The Lord has issued a decree against you: ¹  “Your dynasty will come to an end. ²  I will destroy the idols and images in the temples of your gods. I will desecrate ³  your grave – because you are accursed!” ⁴ 

and bring the heifer down to a wadi with flowing water, ¹  to a valley that is neither plowed nor sown. ²  There at the wadi they are to break the heifer’s neck.
