They will be thrown down the side of a cliff by their judges. ¹  They ²  will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.

My child, ²  if ³  you receive my words, and store up ⁴  my commands within you,

Listen, my child, ¹  and accept my words, so that ²  the years of your life will be many. ³ 

So now, children, ¹  listen to me; do not turn aside from the words I speak. ²

All the words of my mouth are righteous; ¹  there is nothing in them twisted ²  or crooked.

The Lord abhors ¹  the plans ²  of the wicked, ³  but pleasant words ⁴  are pure. ⁵ 

Pleasant words are like ¹  a honeycomb, ²  sweet to the soul and healing ³  to the bones.

The truly wise person ¹  restrains ²  his words, and the one who stays calm ³  is discerning.

If you stop listening to ¹  instruction, my child, you will stray ²  from the words of knowledge.
