Half of it he burns in the fire – over that half he cooks ¹  meat; he roasts a meal and fills himself. Yes, he warms himself and says, ‘Ah! I am warm as I look at the fire.’

whose heart did not bless me ¹  as he warmed himself with the fleece of my sheep, ² 

For she leaves ¹  her eggs on the ground, and lets them be warmed on the soil.

So they gathered it each morning, ¹  each person according to what he could eat, and when the sun got hot, it would melt. ²
