You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

So if ¹  you cannot do such a very little thing as this, why do you worry about ²  the rest?

“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

I fed you milk, ¹  not solid food, for you were not yet ready. In fact, you are still not ready,

For you can all prophesy one after another, so all can learn and be encouraged.

You will look for me ¹  but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come.”

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept ¹  my teaching. ² 

When reading this, ¹  you will be able to ²  understand my insight into this secret ³  of Christ.

Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say anything good, since you are evil? For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart.

For you will always have the poor with you, and you can do good for them whenever you want. But you will not always have me! ¹ 

So ¹  Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guests ²  fast while the bridegroom ³  is with them, can you? ⁴ 

How can you believe, if you accept praise ¹  from one another and don’t seek the praise ²  that comes from the only God? ³ 

So the Jewish leaders ¹  began to say, ²  “Perhaps he is going to kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’”

Now some men came down from Judea ¹  and began to teach the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised ²  according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Paul said to the centurion ¹  and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you ²  cannot be saved.”

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate ¹  the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise ²  the other. You cannot serve God and money. ³ 

and in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, because the sky is red and darkening.’ ¹  You know how to judge correctly the appearance of the sky, ²  but you cannot evaluate the signs of the times.

Jesus ¹  answered, “You don’t know what you are asking! ²  Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” ³  They said to him, “We are able.” ⁴ 

But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I experience?” ¹ 

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate ¹  the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise ²  the other. You cannot serve God and money.” ³
