But the Pharisees ¹  said, “By the ruler ²  of demons he casts out demons.” ³ 

Then ¹  Pilate called together the chief priests, the ²  rulers, and the people,

Now a certain man, a Pharisee ¹  named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council, ² 

None of the rulers ¹  or the Pharisees have believed in him, have they? ² 

and concerning judgment, ¹  because ²  the ruler of this world ³  has been condemned. ⁴ 

And now, brothers, I know you acted in ignorance, ¹  as your rulers did too.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, ¹  replied, ²  “Rulers of the people and elders, ³ 

This same ¹  Moses they had rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge?’ ²  God sent as both ruler and deliverer ³  through the hand of the angel ⁴  who appeared to him in the bush.

But some of them said, “By the power of Beelzebul, ¹  the ruler ²  of demons, he casts out demons.”

Now ¹  a certain ruler ²  asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” ³ 

and how our chief priests and rulers handed him over ¹  to be condemned to death, and crucified ²  him.

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world ¹  will be driven out. ² 

On the next day, ¹  their rulers, elders, and experts in the law ²  came together ³  in Jerusalem. ⁴ 

But the man who was unfairly hurting his neighbor pushed ¹  Moses ²  aside, saying, ‘Who made ³  you a ruler and judge over us?

When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made ¹  an attempt to mistreat ²  them and stone them, ³ 

When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the disorderly crowd,

But when the Pharisees ¹  heard this they said, “He does not cast out demons except by the power of Beelzebul, ²  the ruler ³  of demons!”

But Jesus called them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.

The experts in the law ¹  who came down from Jerusalem ²  said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” ³  and, “By the ruler ⁴  of demons he casts out demons.”

Now ¹  one Sabbath when Jesus went to dine ²  at the house of a leader ³  of the Pharisees, ⁴  they were watching ⁵  him closely.
