So indeed it was credited to Abraham ¹  as righteousness.

For we consider that a person ¹  is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. ² 

For I consider myself not at all inferior to those “super-apostles.” ¹ 

now I ask that when I am present I may not have to be bold with the confidence that (I expect) I will dare to use against some who consider us to be behaving ¹  according to human standards. ² 

Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. ¹ 

blessed is the one ¹  against whom the Lord will never count ²  sin.” ³ 

But the statement it was credited to him ¹  was not written only for Abraham’s ²  sake,

One ¹  should think about us this way – as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, ¹ 

Therefore if the uncircumcised man obeys ¹  the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?

For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited ¹  to him as righteousness.” ² 

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

How then was it credited to him? Was he circumcised at the time, or not? No, he was not circumcised but uncircumcised!

So you too consider yourselves ¹  dead to sin, but ²  alive to God in Christ Jesus.

For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared ¹  to the glory that will be revealed to us.

As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” ¹ 

It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.

Not that we are adequate ¹  in ourselves to consider anything as if it were coming from ourselves, but our adequacy ²  is from God,

Brothers and sisters, ¹  I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: ²  Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,

At my first defense no one appeared in my support; instead they all deserted me – may they not be held accountable for it.
