Then he said to the council, ¹  “Men of Israel, ²  pay close attention to ³  what you are about to do to these men.

So because these facts ¹  are indisputable, ²  you must keep quiet ³  and not do anything reckless. ⁴ 

to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.

So ¹  they began to question one another as to which of them it could possibly be who would do this.
