I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation will be held responsible for all these things! ² 

For just a little longer ¹  and he who is coming will arrive and not delay. ² 

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations, ¹  and then the end will come.

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee,

Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. ¹ 

And so ¹  all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion; he will remove ungodliness from Jacob.

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, ¹  and assign him a place with the unfaithful. ² 

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, ¹  the heavens will disappear ²  with a horrific noise, ³  and the celestial bodies ⁴  will melt away ⁵  in a blaze, ⁶  and the earth and every deed done on it ⁷  will be laid bare. ⁸
