For I testify, they gave according to their means and beyond their means. They did so voluntarily, ¹ 

But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

They will maintain the outward appearance ¹  of religion but will have repudiated its power. So avoid people like these. ² 

who has become a priest not by a legal regulation about physical descent ¹  but by the power of an indestructible life.

He was not able to do a miracle there, except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I know that power has gone out ¹  from me.”

After ¹  Jesus ²  called ³  the twelve ⁴  together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure ⁵  diseases,

These kings ¹  have a single intent, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.

Jesus ¹  answered them, “You are deceived, ²  because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

To ¹  one he gave five talents, ²  to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you deceived ¹  for this reason, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God?

But I will come to you soon, if the Lord is willing, and I will find out not only the talk of these arrogant people, but also their power.

If then I do not know the meaning of a language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me.

Then ¹  comes the end, ²  when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.

Now to him who by the power that is working within us ¹  is able to do far beyond ²  all that we ask or think,

My aim is to know him, ¹  to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, ²  and to be like him in his death,

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord ¹  or of me, a prisoner for his sake, but by ²  God’s power accept your share of suffering ³  for the gospel.

By faith, even though Sarah herself was barren and he was too old, ¹  he received the ability to procreate, ²  because he regarded the one who had given the promise to be trustworthy.

quenched raging fire, ¹  escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, ²  became mighty in battle, put foreign armies to flight,

For we did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ; ²  no, ³  we were ⁴  eyewitnesses of his ⁵  grandeur. ⁶
