Now ¹  there was a man named Joseph who was a member of the council, ²  a good and righteous man.

since he is a double-minded individual, ¹  unstable in all his ways.

It is not the wife who has the rights to her own body, but the husband. In the same way, it is not the husband who has the rights to his own body, but the wife.

Now a man named Ananias, together with Sapphira his wife, sold a piece of property.

Now there was a man in Caesarea ¹  named Cornelius, a centurion ²  of what was known as the Italian Cohort. ³ 

blessed is the one ¹  against whom the Lord will never count ²  sin.” ³ 

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.

Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for man.

In any case, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.

A wife is bound as long as her husband is living. But if her husband dies, ¹  she is free to marry anyone she wishes (only someone in the Lord).

Because Joseph, her husband to be, ¹  was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce her ²  privately.

Now ¹  a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector ²  and was rich.

for you have had five husbands, and the man you are living with ¹  now is not your husband. This you said truthfully!”

because he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a significant number of people ¹  were brought to the Lord.

In ¹  Lystra ²  sat a man who could not use his feet, ³  lame from birth, ⁴  who had never walked.

A man named Ananias, ¹  a devout man according to the law, ²  well spoken of by all the Jews who live there, ³ 

A husband should give to his wife her sexual rights, ¹  and likewise a wife to her husband.

Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disgraces his head.

Does not nature ¹  itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace for him,

because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body.
