The one who eats everything must not despise the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not judge the one who eats everything, for God has accepted him.

The one who observes the day does it for the Lord. The ¹  one who eats, eats for the Lord because he gives thanks to God, and the one who abstains from eating abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.

For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard ¹  for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.

While they were at the table ¹  eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, ²  one of you eating with me will betray me.” ³ 

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ ¹ 

Not counting women and children, there were about five thousand men who ate.

Not counting children and women, ¹  there were four thousand men who ate. ² 

One person believes in eating everything, but the weak person eats only vegetables.

Eat anything that is sold in the marketplace without questions of conscience,

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury ¹  of fire that will consume God’s enemies. ² 

When the experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees ²  saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” ³ 

Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?

and he begins to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with drunkards,

And while they were eating he said, “I tell you the truth, ¹  one of you will betray me.” ² 

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

For John the Baptist has come ¹  eating no bread and drinking no wine, ²  and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ ³ 

Whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  welcome you, eat what is set before you.

He ¹  was longing to eat ²  the carob pods ³  the pigs were eating, but ⁴  no one gave him anything.

Likewise, just as it was ¹  in the days of Lot, people ²  were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;

After he said this, Paul ¹  took bread ²  and gave thanks to God in front of them all, ³  broke ⁴  it, and began to eat.
