but he ran off naked, ¹  leaving his linen cloth behind.

if indeed, after we have put on ¹  our heavenly house, ²  we will not be found naked.

When ¹  did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you?

A young man was following him, wearing only a linen cloth. They tried to arrest him,

If a brother or sister ¹  is poorly clothed and lacks daily food,

I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’

I was a stranger and you did not receive me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’

And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare seed ¹  – perhaps of wheat or something else.

And no creature is hidden from God, ¹  but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

(Look! I will come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose ¹  his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful condition ²  be seen.) ³ 

Then they too will answer, ¹  ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not give you whatever you needed?’

Then the man who was possessed by ¹  the evil spirit jumped on ²  them and beat them all into submission. ³  He prevailed ⁴  against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.

Because you say, “I am rich and have acquired great wealth, ¹  and need nothing,” but ²  do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, ³  poor, blind, and naked,

The ¹  ten horns that you saw, and the beast – these will hate the prostitute and make her desolate and naked. They ²  will consume her flesh and burn her up with fire. ³ 

Then the disciple whom ¹  Jesus loved ²  said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” So Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, tucked in his outer garment (for he had nothing on underneath it), ³  and plunged ⁴  into the sea.
