He confessed – he did not deny but confessed – “I am not the Christ!” ¹ 

and he was baptizing them ¹  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

Yes, ¹  I confess my wrongdoing, and I am concerned about my sins.

when an individual becomes guilty with regard to one of these things ¹  he must confess how he has sinned, ² 

Those truly of Israelite descent ¹  separated from all the foreigners, ²  standing and confessing their sins and the iniquities of their ancestors. ³ 

Many of those who had believed came forward, ¹  confessing and making their deeds known. ² 

For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness ¹  and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. ² 

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

The one who covers ¹  his transgressions will not prosper, ²  but whoever confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy. ³ 

If anyone ¹  confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides ²  in him and he in God.

However, when ¹  they confess their iniquity and their ancestors’ iniquity which they committed by trespassing against me, ²  by which they also walked ³  in hostility against me ⁴ 

For one-fourth of the day they stood in their place and read from the book of the law of the LORD their God, and for another fourth they were confessing their sins ¹  and worshiping the LORD their God.

People ¹  from the whole Judean countryside and all of Jerusalem ²  were going out to him, and he was baptizing them ³  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

Compete well ¹  for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession ²  for ³  in the presence of many witnesses.

Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. The person who confesses the Son has the Father also. ¹ 

Now give praise to the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will. Separate yourselves from the local residents ¹  and from these foreign wives.”

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord ¹  and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I charge you ¹  before God who gives life to all things and Christ Jesus who made his good confession ²  before Pontius Pilate,

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, ¹  forgiving ²  us our sins and cleansing ³  us from all unrighteousness.

Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, “I will confess ¹  my rebellious acts to the Lord.” And then you forgave my sins. ²  (Selah)
