So he saves ¹  from the sword that comes from their mouth, ²  even ³  the poor from the hand of the powerful.

My God, rescue me from the power ¹  of the wicked, from the hand of the cruel oppressor!

“I will deliver you from the power of the wicked. I will free you from the clutches of violent people.”

Then ¹  they attempted ²  again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches. ³ 

The one who builds his house by unjust gain is as good as dead. ¹  He does this so he can build his nest way up high and escape the clutches of disaster. ² 

with ¹  two projections per frame parallel one to another. ²  He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.

Or ‘Deliver me ¹  from the enemy’s power, ²  and from the hand of tyrants ³  ransom ⁴  me’?

God abandons me to evil ¹  men, ²  and throws ³  me into the hands of wicked men.

You do not deliver me over to the power of the enemy; you enable me to stand ¹  in a wide open place.

But ¹  God will rescue ²  my life ³  from the power ⁴  of Sheol; certainly ⁵  he will pull me to safety. ⁶  (Selah)

Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For he rescues the oppressed from the clutches of evildoers. ¹ 

A whirlwind has wrapped them in its wings; they will be brought to shame because of their idolatrous worship. ¹ 

When his brother came out with ¹  his hand clutching Esau’s heel, they named him Jacob. ²  Isaac was sixty years old ³  when they were born.

Indeed, I will no longer have compassion on the people of the land,” says the Lord, “but instead I will turn every last person over to his neighbor and his king. They will devastate the land, and I will not deliver it from them.”

Too bad for us! Who can deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all sorts of plagues in the desert!

Rise up, Lord! Confront him! ¹  Knock him down! ²  Use your sword to rescue me from the wicked man! ³ 

Rescue me from the mud! Don’t let me sink! Deliver me ¹  from those who hate me, from the deep water!

O Lord, shelter me from the power ¹  of the wicked! Protect me from violent men, who plan to knock me over. ² 

Therefore you will no longer see false visions and practice divination. I will rescue my people from your power, and you ¹  will know that I am the Lord.’”

then, my child, do this in order to deliver yourself, ¹  because you have fallen into your neighbor’s power: ²  go, humble yourself, ³  and appeal firmly ⁴  to your neighbor.
