You established the cycle of day and night; ¹  you put the moon ²  and sun in place. ³ 

You cleared the ground for it; ¹  it took root, ²  and filled the land.

When he established the heavens, I was there; when he marked out the horizon ¹  over the face of the deep,

(Make the chain, ¹  because the land is full of murder ²  and the city is full of violence.)

On that day the prince will provide for himself and for all the people of the land a bull for a sin offering.

Thus they will provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the olive oil morning by morning, as a perpetual burnt offering.

He ¹  sent messengers on ahead of him. ²  As they went along, ³  they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance ⁴  for him,

Therefore be resolved ¹  not to rehearse ²  ahead of time how to make your defense.

The Lord’s messenger said to Manoah, “If I stay, ¹  I will not eat your food. But if you want to make a burnt sacrifice to the Lord, you should offer it.” (He said this because Manoah did not know that he was the Lord’s messenger.) ²

He made for himself a large storeroom where previously they had been keeping ¹  the grain offering, the incense, and the vessels, along with the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil as commanded for the Levites, the singers, the gate keepers, and the offering for the priests.

So Isaac ¹  held a feast for them and they celebrated. ² 

The first lamb you are to prepare in the morning, and the second lamb you are to prepare around sundown. ¹ 

Gideon went and prepared a young goat, ¹  along with unleavened bread made from an ephah of flour. He put the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot. He brought the food ²  to him under the oak tree and presented it to him.

So they took a bull, as he had suggested, ¹  and prepared it. They invoked the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying, “Baal, answer us.” But there was no sound and no answer. They jumped ²  around on the altar they had made. ³ 

From Dan there were 28,600 men prepared for battle.

The musicians, the descendants of Asaph, manned their posts, as prescribed by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s prophet. ¹  The guards at the various gates did not need to leave their posts, for their fellow Levites made preparations for them.

He allowed the hungry to settle there, and they established a city in which to live.

David ordered the resident foreigners in the land of Israel to be called together. He appointed some of them to be stonecutters to chisel stones for the building of God’s temple.
