Then Joab got up and came to Absalom’s house. He said to him, “Why did your servants set my portion of field on fire?”

So the king and all the members of his royal court ¹  set out on foot, though the king left behind ten concubines ²  to attend to the palace.

Go and close the door behind you and your sons. Pour the olive oil into all the containers; ¹  set aside each one when you have filled it.”

He made ten tables and set them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left. He also made one hundred gold bowls.

In every city throughout Judah he set up high places to offer sacrifices to other gods. He angered the Lord God of his ancestors.

Since man’s days ¹  are determined, ²  the number of his months is under your control; ³  you have set his limit ⁴  and he cannot pass it.

“O that ¹  you would hide me in Sheol, ²  and conceal me till your anger has passed! ³  O that you would set me a time ⁴  and then remember me! ⁵

The law of the Lord is perfect and preserves one’s life. ¹  The rules set down by the Lord ²  are reliable ³  and impart wisdom to the inexperienced. ⁴

He established a rule ¹  in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants, ²

You set up a boundary for them that they could not cross, so that they would not cover the earth again. ¹ 

Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men ¹  spread a net by the path; they set traps for me. (Selah)

The name of the Lord ¹  is like ²  a strong tower; ³  the righteous person runs ⁴  to it and is set safely on high. ⁵ 

Don’t set foot too frequently ¹  in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary ²  of you and hate you.

His legs are like pillars of marble set on bases of pure gold. His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as its cedars.

They say, “Let’s attack Judah, terrorize it, and conquer it. ¹  Then we’ll set up the son of Tabeel as its king.” ² 

I am not angry. I wish I could confront some thorns and briers! Then I would march against them ¹  for battle; I would set them ²  all on fire,
