Samson went and captured three hundred jackals ¹  and got some torches. He tied the jackals in pairs by their tails and then tied a torch to each pair. ² 

So they went up to the town. As they were heading for the middle of the town, Samuel was coming in their direction ¹  to go up to the high place.

As Saul approached Samuel in the middle of the gate, he said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”

Now the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite – Recab and Baanah – went at the hottest part of the day to the home of Ish-bosheth, as he was enjoying his midday rest.

He will rescue ¹  me and protect me from those who attack me, ²  even though ³  they greatly outnumber me. ⁴ 

I say, “O my God, please do not take me away in the middle of my life! ¹  You endure through all generations. ² 

the way ¹  of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship in the sea, and the way of a man with a woman. ²
