Then the father realized that it was the very time ¹  Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live,” and he himself believed along with his entire household.

nor do you have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent.

Jesus replied, ¹  “This is the deed ²  God requires ³  – to believe in the one whom he ⁴  sent.”

So they said to him, “Then what miraculous sign will you perform, so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty. ¹ 

For this is the will of my Father – for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up ¹  at the last day.” ² 

Yet many of the crowd ¹  believed in him and said, “Whenever the Christ ²  comes, he won’t perform more miraculous signs than this man did, will he?” ³ 

let the one who believes in me drink. ¹  Just as the scripture says, ‘From within him ²  will flow rivers of living water.’” ³ 

Who among you can prove me guilty ¹  of any sin? ²  If I am telling you ³  the truth, why don’t you believe me?

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you and you do not believe. The deeds ²  I do in my Father’s name testify about me.

and I am glad ¹  for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe. ²  But let us go to him.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live ¹  even if he dies,

Jesus responded, ¹  “Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”

But Jesus shouted out, ¹  “The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me, ² 

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness.

But these ¹  are recorded ²  so that you may believe ³  that Jesus is the Christ, ⁴  the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. ⁵ 

Even Simon himself believed, and after he was baptized, he stayed close to ¹  Philip constantly, and when he saw the signs and great miracles that were occurring, he was amazed. ² 

About him all the prophets testify, ¹  that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins ²  through his name.”

Therefore if God ¹  gave them the same gift ²  as he also gave us after believing ³  in the Lord Jesus Christ, ⁴  who was I to hinder ⁵  God?”

When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice ¹  and praise ²  the word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed for eternal life ³  believed.
