For just like the lightning ¹  comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. ¹  It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man. ² 

Therefore you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. ¹ 

“When ¹  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over ¹  to be crucified.” ² 

and saying, “You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! ¹  If you are God’s Son, come down ²  from the cross!”

He trusts in God – let God, if he wants to, deliver him now ¹  because he said, ‘I am God’s Son’!”

Therefore go ¹  and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, ² 

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their ¹  boat mending nets.

But so that you may know ¹  that the Son of Man ²  has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytic ³  –

And whenever the unclean spirits ¹  saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”

Then ¹  he cried out with a loud voice, “Leave me alone, ²  Jesus, Son of the Most High God! I implore you by God ³  – do not torment me!”

Then ¹  a cloud ²  overshadowed them, ³  and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my one dear Son. ⁴  Listen to him!” ⁵ 

A member of the crowd said to him, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom ¹  for many.”

When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout, ¹  “Jesus, Son of David, ²  have mercy ³  on me!”

Many scolded ¹  him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he said, “How is it that the experts in the law ¹  say that the Christ ²  is David’s son? ³ 

If David himself calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” ¹  And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

“But as for that day or hour no one knows it – neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son ¹  – except the Father.
