so that you may be like ¹  your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

so that your gift may be in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. ¹ 

Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.

For the unconverted ¹  pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? ¹  Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. ² 

“Whoever, then, acknowledges ¹  me before people, I will acknowledge ²  before my Father in heaven.

But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.

For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is ¹  my brother and sister and mother.”

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. ¹  The one who has ears had better listen! ² 

And he replied, ¹  “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your ¹  brother ²  from your heart.”

And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, ¹  we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

“But as for that day and hour no one knows it – not even the angels in heaven ¹  – except the Father alone.

Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and that he would send me more than twelve legions ¹  of angels right now?

Therefore go ¹  and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, ² 

Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

But you say that if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever help you would have received from me is corban’ ¹  (that is, a gift for God),

Jesus ¹  asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.
