When the ones carrying the ark reached the Jordan and the feet of the priests carrying the ark touched the surface ¹  of the water – (the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest time) ²  –

The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord came up from the middle of the Jordan, and as soon as they set foot on dry land, ¹  the water of the Jordan flowed again and returned to flood stage. ² 

When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she ¹  said to Ahab, “Get up, take possession of the vineyard Naboth the Jezreelite refused to sell you for silver, for Naboth is no longer alive; he’s dead.”

When they had entered Samaria, Elisha said, “O Lord, open their eyes, so they can see.” The Lord opened their eyes and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria. ¹ 

One day some men ¹  were burying a man when they spotted ²  a raiding party. So they threw the dead man ³  into Elisha’s tomb. When the body ⁴  touched Elisha’s bones, the dead man ⁵  came to life and stood on his feet.

So, watch out!” ¹  says the Lord. “The time will soon come when people will no longer call those places Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom. But they will call that valley ²  the Valley of Slaughter and they will bury so many people in Topheth they will run out of room. ³ 

Moses said, “I am going to go out ¹  from you and pray to the Lord, and the swarms of flies will go away from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people tomorrow. Only do not let Pharaoh deal falsely again ²  by not releasing ³  the people to sacrifice to the Lord.”

When the Philistines saw he had no attendants, they gave him thirty groomsmen who kept him company. ¹ 

Israel and the Philistines drew up their battle lines opposite one another.

(19:2) Joab was told, “The king is weeping and mourning over Absalom.”

When they heard the law, they removed from Israel all who were of mixed ancestry.

For the years that lie ahead are few, ¹  and then I will go on the way of no return. ² 

The Lord watches over the innocent day by day ¹  and they possess a permanent inheritance. ² 

Sinful rebels are totally destroyed; ¹  evil men have no future. ² 

The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴ 

The one who tells the truth ¹  will endure forever, but the one who lies ²  will last only for a moment. ³ 

The one who plans to do evil will be called a scheming person. ¹ 

Indeed, ¹  he says: “Are not my officials all kings?

Mourn over the field, ¹  over the delightful fields and the fruitful vine!

I also told the priests and all the people, “The Lord says, ‘Do not listen to what your prophets are saying. They are prophesying to you that ¹  the valuable articles taken from the Lord’s temple will be brought back from Babylon very soon. ²  But they are prophesying a lie to you.
