When he made ¹  the force of the wind and measured ²  the waters with a gauge.

which the clouds pour down and shower on humankind abundantly.

to satisfy a devastated and desolate land, and to cause it to sprout with vegetation? ¹ 

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-fig trees with driving rain.

This ¹  has been my practice, for I observe your precepts.

O Lord, restore our well-being, just as the streams in the arid south are replenished. ¹ 

Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky! ¹ 

By his knowledge the primordial sea ¹  was broken open, ²  and the clouds drip down dew. ³

Fire resides in his tent; ¹  over his residence burning sulfur is scattered.

He locks the waters in his clouds, and the clouds do not burst with the weight of them.

A tempest blows out from its chamber, icy cold from the driving winds. ¹ 

Who by wisdom can count the clouds, and who can tip over ¹  the water jars of heaven,

The Lord thundered ¹  in ²  the sky; the sovereign One ³  shouted. ⁴ 

You crown the year with your good blessings, ¹  and you leave abundance in your wake. ² 

They surround me like water all day long; they join forces and encircle me. ¹
