When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute ¹  because she had covered her face.

You and my brother Benjamin can certainly see with your own eyes that I really am the one who speaks to you. ¹ 

The priest must then examine it, ¹  and if ²  the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest is to pronounce the person unclean. ³  It is a disease.

Is it of any special benefit ¹  to the Almighty that you should be righteous, or is it any gain to him that you make your ways blameless? ² 

In a moment they die, in the middle of the night, ¹  people ²  are shaken ³  and they pass away. The mighty are removed effortlessly. ⁴ 

How much less, then, when you say that you do not perceive him, that the case is before him and you are waiting for him! ¹ 

I will be happy and rejoice in your faithfulness, because you notice my pain and you are aware of how distressed I am. ¹ 

O Lord, do not let me be humiliated, for I call out to you! May evil men be humiliated! May they go wailing to the grave! ¹ 

But you take notice, ¹  Lord! O Lord, do not remain far away from me!

The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit ¹  – O God, a humble and repentant heart ²  you will not reject. ³ 

They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. ¹  They plan how to hide ²  snares, and boast, ³  “Who will see them?” ⁴ 

O God, invincible warrior, ¹  come back! Look down from heaven and take notice! Take care of this vine,
