Now ¹  in those days a decree ²  went out from Caesar ³  Augustus ⁴  to register ⁵  all the empire ⁶  for taxes.

He went ¹  to be registered with Mary, who was promised in marriage to him, ²  and who was expecting a child.

He ¹  went into all the region around the Jordan River, ²  preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. ³ 

So ¹  he went down to Capernaum, ²  a town ³  in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he began to teach the people. ⁴ 

Immediately ¹  he stood up before them, picked ²  up the stretcher ³  he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying ⁴  God.

but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹ 

“Two men went up ¹  to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee ²  and the other a tax collector. ³ 

Therefore he said, “A nobleman ¹  went to a distant country to receive ²  for himself a kingdom and then return. ³ 

So ¹  they went and found things ²  just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people, ¹ 

The man went away and informed the Jewish leaders ¹  that Jesus was the one who had made him well.

After this ¹  Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (also called the Sea of Tiberias). ² 

When the feast was half over, Jesus went up to the temple courts ¹  and began to teach. ² 

Then they picked up ¹  stones to throw at him, ²  but Jesus hid himself and went out from the temple area. ³ 

Because they had heard that Jesus ¹  had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

Now those who had been forced to scatter went around proclaiming the good news of the word.

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

So after they shook ¹  the dust off their feet ²  in protest against them, they went to Iconium. ³ 

While ¹  Apollos was in Corinth, ²  Paul went through the inland ³  regions ⁴  and came to Ephesus. ⁵  He ⁶  found some disciples there ⁷ 

“And now ¹  I know that none ²  of you among whom I went around proclaiming the kingdom ³  will see me ⁴  again.
