He is the one you should praise; ¹  he is your God, the one who has done these great and awesome things for you that you have seen.

Only the holy things and votive offerings that belong to you, you must pick up and take to the place the Lord will choose. ¹ 

Those nations that you are about to dispossess listen to omen readers and diviners, but the Lord your God has not given you permission to do such things.

You will celebrate all the good things that the Lord your God has given you and your family, ¹  along with the Levites and the resident foreigners among you.

He said to them, “Why do you behave in this way? For I hear about these evil things from all these ¹  people.

You should not turn aside after empty things that can’t profit and can’t deliver, since they are empty. ¹ 

However, fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. Just look at the great things he has done for you!

So his servants told David these things and David agreed ¹  to become the king’s son-in-law. Now the specified time had not yet expired ² 

Then Jonathan called David and told him all these things. Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he served him as he had done formerly. ¹ 

Then Jonathan gave his equipment to the servant who was with him. He said to him, “Go, take these things back to the city.”

So David’s servants went on their way. When they had returned, they came and told David ¹  all these things.

King David dedicated these things to the Lord, ¹  along with the dedicated silver and gold that he had taken from ²  all the nations that he had subdued,

She said, “In the past they would always say, ‘Let them inquire in Abel,’ and that is how they settled things.

(Now his father had never corrected ¹  him ²  by saying, “Why do you do such things?” He was also very handsome and had been born right after Absalom. ³ )

The king ¹  asked them, “Describe the appearance ²  of this man who came up to meet you and told you these things.”

Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet’s ¹  servant, and said, “Tell me all the great things which Elisha has done.”

The Israelites said things about the Lord their God that were not right. ¹  They built high places in all their cities, from the watchtower to the fortress. ² 

Yet the Lord’s great anger against Judah did not subside; he was still infuriated by all the things Manasseh had done. ¹ 

So when Rehoboam ¹  humbled himself, the Lord relented from his anger and did not annihilate him; ²  Judah experienced some good things. ³ 

Nevertheless you have done some good things; ¹  you removed ²  the Asherah poles from the land and you were determined to follow the Lord.” ³
